Chris Patterson from Form Fitness has been taking some great photos at the early bird races.
more early bird bicycle racing
30 01 2006Less wind this week, so the average speed was higher.
average HR was 166, average speed was 26.7.
27.5 miles in 1 hr 1 minute.
Pretty fast for an early bird.
No breaks stayed away, some fast riders there, good field, great weather, I was off the front from 3 to go to 1 to go then got caught so no luck for me in the finish. Holloway fared pretty well, the team is looking sweet for ’06. 4 early birds and 2 victories

The water bottle is the new water cooler.
24 01 2006This article came out a month ago.
Wheels and Deals in Silicon Valley.
It describes how cycling is the new golf. Do you think in 10 yrs from now, they will be saying Playstation 17 is the new cycling?
Anyway… so the AP did a follow up video article called Wheeling and Dealing. You can see Fowlkes and Nelson in the video and drinking coffee at the end…wow, look at the movers and shakers. I hate to tell you, although wheeling and dealing does happen, it is a distant second from just getting the hell away from work and life for a few hours a day.
The best part is the caption on the video…
“Techies abandon the golf courses and power lunches for a chance to peddle their way to success.”
Cyclists, peddle-ing their way to success. Perfect!
